The PIECES project has entered a new phase of qualitative evaluation, aiming to collect valuable user feedback on the Primary Cancer Prevention – Implementation Toolkit (PCP-IT). This phase involves conducting in-depth interviews with implementation teams to better understand how effectively the toolkit supports the selection, adaptation, and implementation of primary cancer prevention programmes.
The main objective is to evaluate whether the PCP-IT enhances implementation processes and contributes to improved outcomes. Currently, more than 20 implementation teams across various countries—including Spain, the Netherlands, Albania, the UK, Italy, Ukraine, Ireland, and Germany—are actively using the toolkit in real-world settings.
User Interviews
The interviews will last between 60 and 120 minutes and will focus on a range of key areas, including:
– Preparation for using the Toolkit
– Functionality and usability
– User satisfaction
– Barriers and facilitators encountered during implementation
– Impact of the Toolkit on real-world practice
Interviews will take place every six months at each implementation site. Depending on the context, sessions may be conducted as semi-structured focus groups or individual interviews. Wherever possible, interviews will be conducted in the local language and recorded and transcribed to ensure high-quality data collection.
Complementary Quantitative Evaluation
Alongside the interviews, the PIECES project is also gathering quantitative data through brief online surveys. Members of the implementation teams are asked to complete these surveys every six months, providing additional insights into the toolkit’s effectiveness and usability.
