As part of the PIECES main objective, the project team is developing an innovative toolkit, known as the PCP Integrated Implementation Toolkit (PCP-IT), to guide and support users in the selection, adaptation and implementation of cancer prevention programmes. The PCP-IT is free of charge and can be used by professionals interested in implementing an evidence-based programme, practice or policy targeting PCP risk factors.
The tool is designed to guide and support users in selecting an evidence-based cancer prevention programme; deciding how to adapt the programme to the local context and stakeholder needs; developing effective and feasible implementation plans to deliver the selected and adapted programmes; and using evidence-based implementation strategies that address local and context-specific barriers.
How will PCP-IT help implementers?
Step-by-step guidance
Our comprehensive online toolkit provides step-by-step support to ensure users address all critical issues for successful implementation.
Available in your local language
Improve understanding, reduce misunderstandings and ensure effective team engagement.
Access to the best cancer prevention programmes
We have curated the best cancer prevention programmes, eliminating the need to wade through endless literature. Access a repository of evidence-based programmes.
Overcome implementation barriers
Users can use a range of evidence-based strategies to navigate and overcome known implementation challenges. Access to evidence-based repositories of implementation barriers and strategies.
Community of practice and online forum
Users can benefit from an international online community of practice and an online forum to share experiences, seek advice and collaborate with other implementers. This platform promotes peer learning, support and sharing of best practice.
Increased efficiency
Make more effective use of time and optimise investment in prevention programmes, ensuring better use of resources. The toolkit is free of charge thanks to funding from the European Commission.
Improved programme outcomes
Improve the effectiveness and outcomes of cancer prevention programmes. For example, by reaching a wider audience.
The PIECES team will be asking implementers for feedback on the toolkit. Their insights will help us understand how the toolkit works in practice and identify areas for improvement.
